  Additional Comments      
  • As shown in the graphs, the reduction in PCE concentrations was accompanied by a large increase in chloride concentration which demonstrates degradation of the PCE. Ethane (which is a degradation product) was also found in the groundwater after treatment.
  • The EZVI was applied in an active area of the manufacturing plant and did not disturb on-going plant operations.
  • Reducing conditions exist in the treatment zone along with indigenous microorganisms known to dechlorinate solvents. On-going monitoring will measure the affect of long term anaerobic biodegradation of dissolved phase PCE.
